Major AusCycling events in May

The temperature is dropping but the events keep coming - find out what's on around AusCycling land in May.

Seven Gravel Race

SEVEN

SEVEN wasn't designed to be easy. From the beginning, the plan was to create an event of epic proportions that could be compared to an early stage of the Tour de France or a current monument of cycling like the Paris-Roubaix. It was an ambitious goal, and not one to be judged by those who haven’t actually ridden the course. For many, just completing the course in the allotted ten hours will be an achievement. For others, qualifying for the UCI Gravel World Championship and the chance to race against the world’s best riders will be their measure. We would be wrong to say there is no fail, as a number of riders do miss the cut-off each year. There will always be next year.

In 2022, the 125km SEVEN Gravel Race joins 15 other events around the world as a part of the UCI’s newly formed Trek Gravel World Series.

2022 AusCycling Fat Bike Mountain Bike National Championships

Cable Beach is world famous and for good reason. It boasts white sands, massive 10-metre tides, red pindan cliffs, warm waters, killer sunsets, iconic camel rides and even dinosaur prints. Now it hosts Australia's only beach cycling event - the AusCycling Fat Bike National Championships. If you're rolling wheels larger than 3.8 inches (97 mm) then you could be Australia's next fat bike national champion.

2022 AusCycling National Club Cycling Esports Series

Zwift

Australia’s cycling, MTB and BMX clubs will continue their battle for supremacy in May as the 2022 AusCycling National Club Cycling Esports Series hits crunch time on the virtual roads of Zwift. It’s the latest product of AusCycling’s partnership with Zwift after Vikings Cycling Club and Waratah Masters Cycling Club conquered last year’s competition.

Each round will be streamed on the AusCycling YouTube channel and on Zwift Community Live, with commentary by the likes of Gracie Elvin, Anna Russell and Jethro Nagle.
