The Commissaire Pathway

The AusCycling Commissaire Pathway focuses on:

  • Providing a clear pathway for Officials to develop their capabilities
  • Offering opportunities to develop within and between cycling disciplines (multi-disciplinary)
  • Help Commissaires build on previous learning from both inside and outside of cycling
  • Supporting expertise positions for Commissaires (e.g. Moto Commissaire, Secretary) with specific training

Commissaire Pathway



All Commissaire courses are discipline-specific (BMX, Cyclo-cross, Mountain Bike, Road, Track) and include common content which is applicable across all disciplines. Common content includes child safety, risk management and responsibilities.

Anyone undertaking an accreditation must complete all of the discipline-specific components (theoretical and practical) to receive accreditation in a discipline (e.g. a National Road Commissaire must complete the Regional Commissaire course before qualifying to take the National MTB Commissaire Course however are not required to undertake the ‘Common’ content again).

The Para-Cycling add-on course can be taken at any point in the Commissaire Pathway.
