Road Ride Leader Course December 16 & 17

LogoLogoSA

AusCycling is pleased to announce that, in partnership with the Santos Tour Down Under, we will host two days of Road Ride Leader courses on December 16 & 17. Completing the Road Ride Leader prepares the people who find themselves leading the decision making in daily rides by offering a set of ground rules and approaches to dealing with everyday bunch situations.

As part of the STDU’s program of affiliated events, AusCycling and our affiliated clubs are collaborating to deliver Group Rides each day, and participants in this RRL course will be front and center, directing each group through carefully planned routes in the Adelaide city and hills.

Road Ride Leader courses are normally $85/participant to cover the costs of delivery, but in this case the Santos Tour Down Under are covering the costs of the course delivery, so for a very limited number of places (20!), this course will be free for AC members who commit to leading at least two Group Rides during the STDU program (Jan 12-21, 2024).

More information about the RRL course can be found here: https://auscycling.org.au/page/road_ride_leader and to register your interest in the courses being delivered on Dec 16 & 17, submit the EOI form here: https://bit.ly/480aBS1

Dates: December 16 & 17

Location: Ride Contour and Victoria Park Criterium Course

Times: 8:30am-1pm (if there is demand, an afternoon course may be added on Saturday)

Participant Requirements:

  • Current and continuing AusCycling membership

  • DCSI Working With Children Check

  • Current First Aid accreditation (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 or equivalent)

It is not a requirement of participation on the course that you have a valid WWCC and First Aid accreditation, however all three criteria must be met before a participant can use their accreditation to lead a bunch ride.
