Cancer Council SA and AusCycling Announce Whole-Sport Partnership in South Australia

It’s with great pleasure and excitement that we can announce that Cancer Council SA have become South Australia’s first ‘Whole Sport Partner’, supporting AusCycling across the 2024 calendar of events.

Each State-level event in SA across all disciplines will be supported by Cancer Council SA, with all clubs hosting events gaining access to SunSmart resources and products to help members protect their skin while riding!

Nearly every discipline of bike racing and riding means spending extended periods of time outdoors, exposing us to harmful UV radiation from the sun. For some of us regular riders that can really start to add up!

With two in three Australians expected to develop some form of skin cancer by age 70, anything we can do to help our clubs raise awareness of the importance of sun protection and protect their members from future risk of skin cancer will make a difference.

We look forward to working with the team at Cancer Council SA throughout the year, and hope that this partnership can pave the way for similar collaborations that benefit our community and members.
