Rockwheelers Junior & Family Social Rides

What: Social Rides for kids and their families.

When: Wednesdays 4:45pm - 6pm during Term 2 & 3 School Terms (Weather Permitting).

Where: Douglas MTB Reserve

Who: Kids from 2yo to Teens and their Parents.

How...

- Junior Riders must have at least Social (Lifestyle) Rockwheelers Membership through       AusCycling - https://www.auscycling.org.au/

- You must sign in before, and out after each ride.

Bonus: As well as our Wednesday rides, we try to arrange a series of Races throughout the year!

Note:

These are Social Rides. The #1 Rule is to have fun with riders of similar age an ability whilst riding the trails.

Where possible we try to have a Level 0 Coach lead each group - but actual "coaching" is very limited. The group is organised and managed by volunteers and relies on the support of parent helpers and riders.

The importance of adult riders:

This is not a drop-and-go activity. You should be riding with your child, or at least nearby. If the group leaders aren't happy with the child/adult ratio, groups won't run.

The History of Rockwheelers Juniors:

Back in 2015, a couple of dads arranged to meet every Thursday so their kids could ride together. Over the years the Rockwheelers Junior & Family Social rides have grown, with us seeing over 70 junior riders and their parents at times! The popularity of the Thursdays rides is what helped produce our Junior Friendly trails like "Thursdays" and "Creeks". To accommodate more people, these rides were changed to Wednesdays in 2022.
