Hosts: Bankstown Sports Cycling Club & AusCycling

Venue: Dunc Gray Velodrome


The Bankstown Sports Cup (formerly Sydney Cup), returning again to the Dunc Gray Velodrome will this year host the NSW Scratch and Madison Championships. Held across 2 days the event will again be a highlight on the NSW Track racing calendar. With the cancellation of the Tamworth Track Carnival the NSW Elimination Championship will also take place

Entries for the Madison Championship must be in by Saturday with racing taking place on the Sunday, please ensure that you have your team ready. If you have a team organised please add it into the "Remarks" section of the entry portal.


Venue Information

  • The 2 days of competition will take place at  Dunc Gray Velodrome, Carysfield Road, Bass Hill
  • Please park in allocated parking bays. Do not park on grass (you will get bogged) or in front of the entrance way
  • Only riders, coaches and club managers will be allowed in the infield, all other people must be in the grandstands.
  • There is a maximum of 1 handler per rider allowed. 
  • Spectators entry will be via seating bowl, up the stairs from the carpark.

Warm-Up and Pre-event training

Please note the track will be closed for training on the morning of event as staff must prepare the track for competition.

  • Track will be open for warm-up 1 hour prior to evening session, and additional open track warm-up time may be permitted during breaks throughout the event at the discretion of Race Director and Chief Commissaire.
  • All riders MUST wear race numbers during warm-up sessions
  • Please stick to "Low Slow and Fast High" with faster riders staying above the blue line

Technical Regulations

The Championships will be run in accordance with, but not limited to, the following technical regulations:

If you wish to withdraw from any event throughout the Championship you MUST inform the Race Director with 1 hours notice prior to the event you are withdrawing from


Age Categories & Eligibility

  • Age Categories for this event are as per 2024 ages effective from 1st October 2023
  • This event is not open to Temporary memberships
  • All riders entering a State Open event must be covered by a Full Race Membership with AusCycling

Event Classification, Presentation & Prizes

  • This event will be held as an "Open Championships"
  • Medals awarded to the first 3 place getters of each event
  • First rider across the line in each category who's primary AusCycling club is in New South Wales will be declared the State Champion
  • Non-New South Wales members may ride in events, but are not eligible for the NSW State Champion title
  • AusCycling Championship Medals awarded for all championship events
  • Presentations will take place periodically throughout the event (please refer to event schedule)
