In 2027, a national championship in Tasmania will headline an exciting Australian road season filled with events for cyclists of all levels and ages.
AusCycling’s 2027 Road Calendar, announced today, features over one hundred races and gran fondos spanning every state and mainland territory.
Road racers can begin blocking out their calendars for the AusCycling Junior & Masters Road National Championships on September 2–5, which will be held in Launceston and Northern Tasmania. The prestigious event will bring hundreds of Australia’s most competitive masters cyclists, and the next generation of young racers, to the beautiful and spectacular Apple Isle.
“We’re really excited to take the AusCycling Junior and Masters Road National Championships to Launceston and Northern Tasmania in 2027, giving riders the opportunity to race for the green and gold jersey in a fantastic cycling region and destination,” said Carlijn Kerdijk, AusCycling’s Head of Events – Road, Gravel & Esports.

The BikeChain J19 National Road Series has also been announced, with the South Coast Junior Tour added to the series. Australia’s only dedicated national competition for under-19s will continue to include the Canberra Junior & Women's Tour and Balmoral Junior & Women’s Tour.
“The BikeChain J19 National Road Series continues to be an important part of our national road calendar, providing our emerging riders with quality racing and the opportunity to test themselves against the best young riders from across the country,” Kerdijk said.
The announcement also reveals the dates and venues for a wide range of state and territory events, including junior races, state series, tours, handicap races, criteriums, time trials and recreational rides – plus state and territory championships.

Today’s announcement completes the calendar of national events, which begin with the Westbridge Funds Road National Championships in January and include the six rounds of the ProVelo Super League announced last week.
Kerdijk said AusCycling’s road calendar will offer competitive opportunities around the country.
“The 2027 calendar showcases the breadth of road cycling across Australia, with quality events taking place across our states and territories and opportunities for riders at every stage of the sport,” she said.
“Having that strong spread of racing is important for our clubs, riders and teams, and for building a connected national competition pathway. We’re looking forward to another big year of road racing in 2027.”
