Calling all social cycling groups!
AusCycling is passionate about making cycling the biggest sport in Australia, and that includes supporting all types of riders, even those who prefer a casual pace and friendly company.
We understand that not every group wants to become a formal club with a committee and official structure. That's why we offer the AusCycling Affiliated Riding Group program.
Benefits of Affiliation:
- Public Liability Insurance: keep your members covered during group rides
- Recognition: become an official part of the AusCycling community
- Resources: access useful resources and newsletters
- Group management: manage your group with ease through our member database
- Member benefits: gain access to member benefits and discounts
Eligibility:
- Your group is social or recreational, with no racing component
- You don't have a formal club structure or committee
- You have at least 5 members hold a current AusCycling Lifestyle or Lifestyle Basic membership. Any members who race and hold a primary club membership will need a Lifestyle Club Add-On membership
Affiliation Requirements:
- There’s an annual fee of $250, which covers administration and platform access
- Unlike a club, there’s no incorporation needed, so you can skip the legal hurdles
What You Don't Get:
There are a few differences between Affiliated Clubs and Riding Groups. As an affiliated Riding Group, you won’t get access to:
- Directors and Officers Insurance (not applicable to riding groups).
- Voting Rights (reserved for affiliated clubs).
- Sanctioned Race Permits (for organized events, contact your State AusCycling branch).
If these components are important to you, you may want to look at how to affiliate as a cycling club.
