Play an important role in ensuring fair and safe competition
Our cycling officials, also known as Commissaires, are the backbone of competitive cycling and bike riding. They make sure races run smoothly, uphold the rules of our sport and foster a positive environment for all participants.
What do Officials do?
Commissaires, the official title for cycling officials, perform a range of important tasks, including:
- Overseeing race operations and making sure races run smoothly and according to established regulations.
- Resolving disputes and making fair and informed decisions on race incidents and rule infractions.
- Maintaining ride safety and promoting a safe racing environment for all participants.
- Contributing to the sport by providing valuable feedback and taking part in ongoing rule development.
Why become an Official?
- Make sure races are conducted with integrity, upholding the rules and spirit of cycling.
- Support event organisers by offering valuable assistance with course selection, venue layout, race programs, scheduling and advice on rules.
- Contribute to a fun, enjoyable and safe environment for all riders.
- Gain valuable training and experience through AusCycling’s development programs.
