Ready to get started? Here’s how to start your club in four easy steps.
Step One: Gauge Interest and Form a Committee
Spread the word about your club idea through local bike shops, social media and community centres. A simple tool like a survey can help you gauge interest and identify potential members.
Step Two: Hold an Annual General Meeting
At least seven days before the meeting, you’ll need to announce the date, time and physical or virtual location of the meeting.
You must record all business transacted at the meeting. Your Annual General Meeting should discuss the formation of your club, elect a committee and decide if incorporating as a non-profit is right for you (benefits include limited liability and easier fundraising).

Step Three: Develop your club’s foundations
Develop a clear constitution: This document should outline your club's purpose, structure, and member rights. Our Club Constitution template can help you get started.
Set your club fees: AusCycling recommends a $25 fee, but you can determine the optimal amount for your club.
