A new stage race in Canberra is the biggest addition to Australia's elite road cycling league, according to the 2027 season calendar announced today by the Hertz ProVelo Super League (PSL).
2027 will mark the third season of the PSL, which is sanctioned by AusCycling. Continuing with a six-round format across six states and territories, cycling fans will enjoy elite road cycling across the domestic summer.
The PSL has today announced the return of one of Australia’s most respected tours of the past, with the Tour of Canberra set to feature four stages of elite racing across the nation’s capital from February 26−28. The Tour of Canberra replaces the Harbour City GP.
The 2027 Hertz PSL season will commence at Australia’s biggest cycling festival, the Santos Tour Down Under, as a feature event of the opening festival weekend. The SA Kick It will feature exciting new stage routes and additions in 2027, which will be announced by the PSL in coming weeks.
Featuring elite women’s and men’s divisions, Australia's top teams will go head-to-head with international teams and riders across a challenging, diverse set of racing conditions.
The season once again includes established, historic events in the form of the Tour of Tasmania, Powercor Melbourne to Warrnambool and the Grafton to Inverell, and the overall champions will be awarded after the Q Tour season finale in the Moreton Bay hinterland.
“The Hertz PSL has proven itself as an essential pathway to the WorldTour," said Matt Wilson, co-founder of the PSL. "Since launch in 2025, more than 15 riders have secured a WorldTour-connected opportunity off the back of their achievements across the league season.
"The quality and competitiveness of the racing evolved significantly from Season 1 through Season 2 and we are expecting another step up in 2027. Our third season will see our best calendar of stage racing to date, with some pretty iconic destinations embedded into the calendar."
