The Australians didin’t disappoint in Lenzerheide with numerous riders breaking into the top 10 in the cross-country and downhill at the UCI MTB World Cup held in Switzerland.

Sam Fox (Team Bridgelane), who was recently named in his first Commonwealth Games team produced a career best result in the Under 23 Men XCO race, with a sixth place.

Fellow Games debutant Zoe Cuthbert, made her third straight ninth placing, which has left her 10th overall heading into the next round in Vallnord, Andorra.

While in the downhill, Elise Empey (Collab Racing), who was competing at her first World Cup put in a huge performance to finish eighth in the junior women’s field with Connor Mielke in 16th.

In the junior men Remy Meier-Smith (Propain Factory Racing) was seventh, and Oliver Davis (Union) ninth.

Meier-Smith is currently fourth overall with four rounds remaining.

In the elite women XCO it wasn’t to be Rebecca McConnell’s (Primaflor Mondraker Genuins) day as a 14th place finish saw her hand over the overall leader’s jersey to race winner Leona Lecomte (Canyon Collective).

The Frenchwoman now leads the Australian by one point.
