Rebecca McConnell (PrimaFlor Mondraker XSauce), Daniel McConnell (PrimaFlor Mondraker XSauce) and Cameron Wright (Giant Factory Off-Road Team) lined up for the opening round of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz UCI MTB World Cup in Albstadt, Germany.

McConnell would finish in 21st behind winner Loana Lecomte (Massi) in the elite women’s cross-country.

In the elite men’s race Daniel McConnell finished 43rd in a massive field of 154 riders, while Wright crossed in 23rd place in the Under 23 Men’s field.

Next stop is Nove Mesto na Morave in Czech Republic for Round 2, May 15-16.

RESULTS

In Italy, Caroline Buchanan took part in Round 1 and 2 of the UCI BMX SX World Cup, her first UCI race since the World Cup rounds in Shepparton 2020.

The Canberra rider would finish 15th and 18th.

The next leg of of the UCI BMX Supercorss World Cup is scheduled to take place on May 29 and 30 in Bogota, Colombia.

RESULTS

While on the road a number of Aussies are in the saddle competing at the Giro d’Italia.
