The Oceania Cycling Confederation (OCC) has announced the full 2026 Oceania Championships calendar after finalising the road and mountain bike (cross-country and short track) championships for next year.
The Oceania Road Championships return to Brisbane, Queensland from April 9–10, with time trials and road races decided including para-cycling categories.
Brisbane will also host the already announced BMX Racing Championships in February at Sleeman Sport Complex's Brisbane SX International BMX Centre as well as the Mountain Bike Championships for cross-country (XCO) and short track (XCC), and BMX Freestyle Championships in March.
The Oceania Championships for road, BMX racing, BMX freestyle and mountain bike XCO and XCC will form an integral part of the Brisbane Cycling Festival.
The first Oceania champions of 2026 will be decided across the ditch at Grassroots Trust Velodrome in Cambridge, New Zealand for the 2026 Oceania Track Championships, to be held from February 10–14.
Mountain Bike Championships for downhill will be held in Toowoomba, Queensland in April, with marathon in Dwellingup, Western Australia in September and enduro in Collie, Western Australia in October for another year.
OCC President and UCI Management Committee Member, Tony Mitchell, said "the OCC is delighted to announce the dates and locations for eight Oceania Championships across track, road, BMX and mountain bike".
"2026 will see more opportunities than ever to race for the Oceania champions jersey and title and we look forward to welcoming athletes from across the Oceania region," Mitchell said.
"The OCC extends its thanks to Brisbane, the Brisbane Economic Development Agency and Queensland Government as well as Cambridge, Toowoomba, Dwellingup and Collie for hosting 2026 Oceania Championships as well as AusCycling and Cycling New Zealand for their ongoing support."
AusCycling Executive General Manger of Major Events, Steve Peterson, said "it’s an incredible opportunity for Australia to host the majority of Oceania Championships in 2026 — and for Brisbane to take centre stage across multiple disciplines".
"These events highlight the strength of our partnerships with the Queensland Government, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, and the Oceania Cycling Confederation, and reinforce Australia’s capability to deliver world-class cycling experiences," Peterson said.
"From road to BMX to mountain bike, it’s going to be an exciting showcase of talent and a celebration of cycling across the region."
