Making his first appearance of the 2022 state series, Jesse Asmus (Nerang BMX Club) outraced 16 other riders to clinch a maiden round win.
Asmus was the quickest of the bunch in all motos and finals and managed to set the fastest time of the afternoon in the round-deciding final – a 31.523.
Just three hundredths of a second behind Asmus in the final run was Sydney BMX Club’s Alex Cameron who took home second while Jye Furner (Macarthur BMX Club), who now leads the series, took third.
Castle Hill BMX Club’s Gemma-lee Thomas was the outstanding rider in the Superclass Women category yet again as she claimed her third victory of the series.
A dominant day in Terrigal has put Thomas in an ideal position to seal the series win in Manly next month.
Second place went the way of Zoe Cooper (Terrigal BMX Club) while Jess McCormack (Macarthur) came in at third.
Securing back-to-back round wins was Ollie Geany (Castle Hill) who remains atop the Junior Superclass Men, while Macarthur’s Violet Dutko jumped into first in the overall rankings after her victory in the Junior Superclass Women.
