State and territory junior series return for 2023

Feb 27, 2023

Junior road cyclists will compete against their peers in one of six state- and territory-based series around the country.

Introduced last year, the AusCycling Junior Road State & Territory Series returns next month, providing a coherent calendar of road racing opportunities for under-13 to under-17 riders.

The competitions will be known as the Morgan Blue Junior Road Series in Victoria, Northwave Junior Road Series in NSW and ACT, BBB Junior Road Series in Queensland, and Bryton Junior Road Series in South Australia. Events will also return in Tasmania and Western Australia.

All told, the series will feature 42 individual days of racing across 25 events.

“The series gives a clear calendar of events and opportunities that riders can participate in, whether as goals in themselves, or to build up towards the national championships,” said Kipp Kaufmann, AusCycling’s Executive General Manager for Sport.

The Santini J19 National Road Series will also return this year after the inaugural edition was won by Talia Appleton and Will Eaves.
