Bridging the gap: BikeChain J19 National Road Series returns for 2026

Australia’s next generation is preparing to step into the spotlight, with the 2026 BikeChain J19 National Road Series set to unfold across three events in May and June.

The series, established by AusCycling exclusively for under-19 cyclists, continues to serve as a crucial stepping stone between junior racing and the demands of elite competition.

Carlee Taylor, AusCycling’s Event Operations Manager (Road and Esports), said the BikeChain J19 National Road Series builds directly on AusCycling’s objectives for junior development.

“The BikeChain J19 National Road Series is designed to help bridge the gap between junior and elite racing here in Australia,” Taylor said.

“On the heels of the ProVelo Super League, where juniors compete in a mixed peloton with under-23s and elites, this series gives these riders a high standard of domestic racing as we move into the winter months.”

As it did last year, the 2026 series will span three states and territories:

  • Round 1 | 2–3 May | Junior Tour of the Riverland (SA)
  • Round 2 | 23–24 May | Canberra Junior Tour (ACT)
  • Round 3 | 27–28 June | Balmoral Junior and Women’s Tour (QLD)

BikeChain, Australia’s leading importer and distributor of premium cycling brands, will continue its support of the series by providing prizes across the three rounds.

The 2025 series was won by Oliver Ward and Ava Schmidtke, while Julian Baudry and Emma Ochoa won overall in 2024.

Entries for the opening rounds are now open.
