2026 BikeChain U19 National Road Series & Northwave Junior Road Series - NSW/ACT Round 2

The 2026 Canberra Junior & Women’s Tour returns to Stromlo Forest Park and the Uriarra Road corridor on 23–24 May, delivering a four-stage weekend of criterium, road race, time trial and a new Mount Stromlo Hill Climb for junior and women riders.

Event snapshot

• When & where: 23–24 May 2026 at Stromlo Forest Park and surrounding roads in the ACT, hosted by Vikings Cycling Club and Canberra Cycling Club.
• Who it’s for: Junior riders from U9 to U19 (male and female) plus Women’s A, B and C grades, aligned with current AusCycling regulations. ​
• Series status: Round 2 of both the Northwave NSW/ACT Junior Road Series and the BikeChain J19 National Road Series   

Four-stage racing

• Stage 1: Criterium on the Stephen Hodge Criterium Circuit at Stromlo Forest Park. 
• Stage 2: Road Race on the rolling Uriarra Road out-and-back courses. ​
• Stage 3: Time Trial from the Stromlo West carpark hub on Uriarra Road. 
• Stage 4: Mount Stromlo Hill Climb on the sealed road from Cotter Road to the observatory summit, with age-appropriate finish points for younger categories.

• Comprehensive development: Riders test speed, endurance, pacing and climbing across four distinct disciplines in a single weekend.
• Iconic venue: Mount Stromlo provides a visually spectacular, closed-road hill climb that showcases rider talent and creates a great atmosphere for families and supporters. ​
• Growing event: After attracting more than 250 riders in 2025, participation is expected to grow to around 280–300 riders in 2026, reinforcing the Tour’s status as a premier junior and women’s development event.
