2022 AusCycling MTB National calendar released

Nov 5, 2021

Mountain Bike racing returns right around the nation in 2022 with the release of the AusCycling National and State Championship Mountain Bike Calendar.

The season gets off to a flyer in January with the first Gold National Cup cross-country event to be held on the Gold Coast before Canberra hosts a double header UCI C2/Junior Series & Gold National Cup XCO, as well as being the venue for the 2022 AusCycling Trials National Championships.

Trials

February’s highlight is the 2022 AusCycling Mountain Bike National Championships which will run from the 14th-20th February once again at Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania.

One of the extra additions in this year’s racing will be the ability for cross-country (XCO) and downhill (DH) riders to gain valuable UCI points with the 2022 Oceania Championships.

The international flavor zeroes in on the Sunshine State with Kooralbyn hosting the downhill leg and Mount Crosby in Brisbane the cross-country event.

April is chock full of XC racing with events in Victoria and Northern Territory, whilst Eagle MTB Park in South Australia will see two weekends of action-packed racing with Gold National Cup rounds in XCO and DH.

The 2022 AusCycling Fat Bike National Championships again retains its place on the racing calendar in May.

Cable Beach

July has racers traversing the east coast heading to Mackay for another UCI C2 /Junior Series event then Noosa for some Gold cross-country marathon racing including the 2022 AusCycling Gravel National Championships.

After the disappointment of being unable to host in 2021 the team at Red Hill will get a chance to showcase their trails when the 2022 AusCycling Gravity Enduro National Championships returns in October.

While Wagga Wagga in the Riverina region of New South Wales gets a chance to show off their new mountain bike park with a Gold XCO event at the end of October.

December will see the Blue Mountains region (Rydal) in New South Wales welcome riders for the 2022 24hr Solo National Championships.

AusCycling will provide more information on specific events in the MTB National Cup in due course with the 2022 AusCycling Cyclo-Cross National Series calendar to be released later in the year.
