AusCycling is pleased to confirm the 2026 AusCycling Mountain Bike Marathon National Championships will be held in Canberra as part of the Shimano 100.
The national titles will be awarded on September 26−27 at Stromlo Forest Park, Canberra in collaboration with Rocky Trail Entertainment’s well-established event.
Elite and age-category riders will battle over three laps on a demanding course designed to test all contenders for the national crown.
The 30-kilometre circuit will feature Stromlo’s signature technical climbs and world-class singletrack as riders chase the green-and-gold jersey.
“Hosting the National Championships within the Shimano 100 is a great chance to raise the profile of marathon mountain biking in Australia,” said AusCycling’s Head of Events – MTB & CX, Lukas Matys.
We’re delighted to partner with such a passionate and experienced event organiser. Rocky Trail Entertainment has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering high-quality events that not only showcase elite competition but also foster participation and community engagement across all levels of mountain biking.”
Last year’s elite men’s champion James Kelly will be chasing back-to-back crowns.
“I’m looking forward to trying to defend the title at Stromlo on another technical course after hopefully racing XCM Worlds again in the Dolomites the week prior,” Kelly said.
The Shimano 100 has been a long-standing event on the Australian mountain bike calendar since 2010.
As well as the championship distance, 30km and 60km distances remain on offer for all riders looking for a challenge at their level.
