‘I love to race aggressive’: Tristan Nash prepares to launch CX National Series at home

A broken wrist hasn't slowed down elite men’s national champion Tristan Nash ahead of this week’s opening rounds of the 2026 AusCycling Cyclo-cross National Series in his hometown of Perth.

After spending the past month managing the injury, which occurred in the final round of the ProVelo Super League in March, Nash says he's still been able to put together a strong block of training in the run-up to the CX season.

“I’ve done some good work, so I’m looking forward to getting back into some racing,” Nash said.

The West Australian heads into the AusCycling Cyclo-cross National Series after a busy summer racing on the road with the Pedal Mafia Falcons.

Fellow West Australian Connor Wright was also part of the Pedal Mafia Falcons.

“They brought together a really special group of guys which led to some great success,” he said.

Nash returns to the CX scene following a breakthrough 2025 campaign that included victory at the Port Adelaide rounds of the National Series before claiming the biggest win of his career with the elite men’s national title in Ballarat.

Nash will defend his title at Ballarat in August

His attacking style made him one of the most exciting riders in the series, and Nash says that approach will continue this season.

“I love to race and race aggressive, so I’ll keep doing that, and we’ll see where it leads,” he said.

Alongside his domestic racing plans, Nash also has his sights set on a home UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup in October and another European cyclo-cross campaign later in the year.
