Tristan Nash claims elite men's CX national title
Aug 17, 2025

West Australian Tristan Nash produced a powerhouse display to claim his first elite men’s National Championships crown in Ballarat.
The threat of heavy rain during the men’s event was nonexistent but it was a slick and fast course that awaited the final two events of the national championships.
Tasman Nankervis flew off the start line taking the hole shot and dominated the race early as he charged up the infamous mound, the course’s most difficult obstacle, with Harrison Bebbington on his heels.

Nash, the winner of the last two national series rounds wasn’t all that far behind as the trio pulled away from the field.
“Some of the boys were pushing the pace real early so I made some mistakes had to keep it under control,” he said.

Spectators lined the side of the mound for the elite men's race.
By the half-way mark Nankervis has established a 10 second gap but things were to go south for last year’s bronze medalist which left Nash, Bebbington and Nicholas Smith to take advantage of his misfortune.
With a vocal West Australian contingent cheering him on, Nash would skid across the line more than a minute ahead of Bebbington and Smith.
