Road Development Academy team for New Zealand junior tour

Twenty-two junior cyclists will travel across the ditch to race in New Zealand in September as part of the AusCycling Development Academies initiative.

The under-17 riders, together with four coaches, make up the AusCycling Road Academy team that will contest the 2025 Yunca Junior Tour of Southland.

The team will compete in six stages across three days, from September 26-28 near Invercargill.

A prologue, a kermesse, a criterium and three road races make up a jam-packed schedule that will provide valuable experience to the young Aussies.

AusCycling Development Academies is a comprehensive program designed to develop and support promising young cyclists across all disciplines, states and territories.

As part of the initiative, nine young MTB cross-country riders are also travelling to Japan in September to compete at the Coupe du Japon Fukasaka International XCO Race.
