Overall winners crowned in AusCycling Downhill National Series

The 2026 AusCycling Downhill National Series winners have been crowned following an exciting five-round season.

The series opened in Falls Creek, before heading to Toowoomba for the Oceania Championships, then north to Cairns for the Rainforest Rumble.

The final two rounds in Willunga and Awaba brought the season to a thrilling conclusion, with some of the tightest possible margins.

Amazingly, the top two in the elite men’s rankings could not be separated, with New South Wales’ Troy Weinert and Victorian Patrick Ward locked together on 502 points after the five rounds.

Troy Weinert recorded his best finish in the final round at Awaba.

Under the countback rules, the title was decided on best results, with Weinert’s second place on his home course at Awaba proving enough to secure overall honours.

In the elite women, Queensland’s Sacha Mills was the standout performer, winning all three rounds she contested to comfortably claim the series title ahead of Amelia Freeman.

One of Sacha Mills' wins came at the Cairns in April.

In the junior men, Jesse Bocking’s strong run through the closing rounds helped the Jindabyne based downhiller secure the overall title by 28 points ahead of Zac Rowland.

Consistent performances across the series from Tamworth’s Rebecca Sams at Toowoomba, Willunga and Awaba saw her finish on top in the junior women’s standings with 820 points.

Jindabyne’s Asha Eddey was one of the most consistent riders of the season, contesting all five rounds and claiming three wins on the way to the under-17 men’s overall title, while Addison Rutherfurd took out the under-17 women’s category.
