Overall titles up for grabs in final downhill national series race in Orange

The stage is set for the conclusion to the 2025 AusCycling Downhill National Series this weekend, as nineteen overall champions are poised to be crowned. 

After three rounds it all comes down to the final run at the Mt Canobolas course in Orange, NSW. 

In the elite men’s division, the title race is as tight as it gets.  

Will Ireland, the current leader, is clinging to a slender advantage—less than 100 points separating him from challengers Kai Pyyvaara and Joshua Button.  

Ireland, fresh off a solid performance at the 2025 GWM Mountain Bike National Championships at Mt Buller, where he finished just inside the top 20, is fired up for a season-ending victory that will cement his place at the top.  

Will Ireland currently leads the overall series with one round to go.

Troy Weinert, currently fourth in the series, is also in the frame after he produced a quality ride to finish in 11^th place at Buller and will certainly put pressure on the top 3. 

Sacha Mills has consistently recorded podium finishes throughout the series, but a win has eluded her.  

Sacha Mills is the current overall series leader in the elite women.

As the series leader heading into the final round, she’s more determined than ever to claim the gold and secure the overall victory.  

However, lurking in the shadows is the ever-strong Zali Miklas, who turned heads with a stellar third-place finish at the 2025 GWM Mountain Bike National Championships.

Could she be the dark horse of the weekend, ready to spring an upset and take the title from under Sacha’s nose?

Only the final race will tell. 

In the junior category Bailey Mills and Quinn Moore hold top spot before the weekend, but it’s whether they can stay there after Sunday’s racing.
