Kim secures overall podium in first Enduro World Cup season

Sep 18, 2023

Tasmanian Sascha Kim has finished on the podium in his first season of the UCI Enduro World Cup after the final round in France.

The seventh and final round of the inaugural UCI Enduro World Cup, part of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series Festival Haute-Savoie, tested riders over a mammoth seven stage course that covered nearly 60km of trails in the famous Portes du Soleil area.

A second on stage six would be the Australian's best result of the race in the Under 21 Men as he ended up in eighth +27 seconds behind the winner.

However a consistent season would ensure Kim would finish third in the overall series rankings behind Frenchman Kentin Baldeyrou.

In the elite men Daniel Booker (Nukeproof SRAM Factory Racing) claimed a fifth place finish which saw him end the series in seventh overall.

The Maydena based rider would finish the season with five top 10 finishes.

2021 Enduro Overall Champion Jack Moir (YT Mob), would end the race in seventh place and see him 10th overall.

Three Australian's would contest the Under 21 Women with Elise Empey (10th), Lia Ladbrook (11th) ad Connor Mielke (12th) all finishing inside the top 20.

While in his first season competing in the E-Enduro Mick Hannah (Yeti/Fox Factory Racing Team) found himself on the podium in third, and fifth overall in the elite men with team-mate Ryan Gilchrist (Yeti/Fox Factory Racing Team) in seventh.
