AusCycling welcomes record ASC investment
Nov 29, 2024
AusCycling has welcomed the Federal Government’s groundbreaking investment announced today by the Australian Sports Commission that will help support Aussie riders and cyclists ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
The ASC has announced an historic $385 million in funding for 70 sports, including AusCycling, over the next 18 months.
The funding will underpin AusCycling’s ambition for pathways and performance in Horizon 2 of the sport’s broader Strategy2032.
AusCycling CEO Marne Fechner said the funding was a major boost for the sport that would help support Australian riders and cyclists in their preparations for Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and Paralympics, and beyond.
“This significant investment from the Federal Government through the ASC will not only help athletes unlock their full potential and realise their dreams as they begin preparations for the next Olympic and Paralympic cycle, but it will also help us nurture the next generation of champions looking to Brisbane 2032.
“Paris saw our athletes produce one of the most successful campaigns in recent history, and this funding will help continue that trajectory into the future.
“Today’s announcement means we can approach the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead with confidence as we work to win the hearts and minds of all Australians.”
All Win Well and Play Well Funding will be allocated from 1 January 2025 until 30 June 2026.
