The 2024 AusCycling NSW/ACT Cross Country Series Round 2 will be held at the Tamworth Mountain Bike Park.

The Course

The Tamworth Round of the State XCO series will utilise a combination of Tamworth Mountain Bike Park trails to create a diverse range of riding styles throughout the 5.2km race loop, featuring both technical as well as flowing style sections.

Starting in the main picnic area, the race loop follows ‘Hillside’ and will include ‘South Park’ in this generally flowing section. Returning via ‘Hillside’ to shortcut across to ‘Secret Valley’ plateau, climbing on ‘Secret Valley’ for a couple of switch backs until proceeding up the hill via the fire trail for a couple of hundred meters (to provide ample passing opportunity) before re-joining ‘Secret Valley’ to complete this trail section.

Upon descent from ‘Secret Valley’ rides will proceed to ‘North Hill’, using a combination of fire trail (for more passing opportunity) as well as single track to climb to the top of ‘North Hill’, and will include the rock wall climb before descending using the ‘Old North Hill’ descent (flow line).

North Hill west extension will also be completed, before returning through the picnic are to immediately cut across onto ‘Creekline’ for 2 creek crossings, before turning left to return to the picnic area and back over the start/finish line.

Age Categories & Eligibility

Under 13, Under 15, Under 17, Under 19, Expert, Elite, Masters & E-Bike.

All entrants must hold a current, valid AusCycling Race Off Road or Race All Discipline Membership.

This event is not open to temporary or recreational memberships.

Entry Fees

U13 - U19 - $25

All other categories - $45

1:30 to 2:30pm: Official Practice

Sunday 11th August

8:30am: Female and Male, U11, U13 and Adaptive

9:30am: Female, Elite, Expert, E-bike, M1/2, M3/4, M5/6, M7+, U19, U17 & U15

11:30am: Male, Elite, Expert, E-bike, M1/2, M3/4, M5/6, M7+, U19, U17 & U15

Technical Regulations

Events will be run according to AusCycling Technical Regulations and the Cross Country Series Technical Guide.

NIXC Series round (Northern Inland Cross Country series) – this round 4 of a 6 round ‘club level’ event, put on with coordination in conjunction with Inverell Mountain Bike Club and New England Mountain bikers (NEMTB), each club hosting 2 rounds throughout non-daylight-saving months of the year. After the NIXC Race on Saturday - The trails will be re-bunted and opened for XCO State Round practice/scouting!
