The AusCycling Community Instructor Course is your entry into the world of cycling instructing. This program, delivered entirely through eLearning, equips you with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to assist qualified coaches and instructors across various disciplines, including BMX, Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Bike, Road, and Track. 

Here's what you'll gain: 

  • A solid understanding: Gain a comprehensive understanding of cycling principles and different disciplines. 
  • Coaching fundamentals: Learn basic instruction techniques to effectively guide aspiring cyclists.  
  • AusCycling expertise: Navigate the organisation's structure and your role within the coaching & instructing pathway.  
  • Mini-Wheeler extension (optional): Learn to conduct engaging balance bike sessions for young riders.

Course Requirements 

Before you get started, you’ll need the following: 

  • Be at least 14 years old 
  • Hold a current AusCycling membership (minimum Lifestyle membership) 
  • Possess a Working with Children Check. Visit Play by The Rules to understand Child Safe requirements in each State and Territory. 
  • Hold a Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003/HLTAID011) as a minimum requirement. 
  • Complete Sport Integrity Australia’s Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction on the AusCycling Learning Centre
