Discover your Inner Champion
Do you have what it takes to be an Olympic or Paralympic cyclist?
AusCycling's Virtual Talent ID program is searching for the next generation of cycling superstars, regardless of background or experience!
Our Virtual Talent ID offers a simple way to see if you have the potential to excel in cycling, mountain biking, or BMX. Take a quick and easy indoor cycling test at home or at an in-person event.
Who can take part?
- Australian citizens aged 16-22 with no prior high-performance experience
- Athletes of any age with a physical or vision impairment (considered for para-cycling)
- Athletes with a background in other competitive sports (talent transfer)
How much does it cost?
The test is completely free! If you don't have a Zwift account, you can use their 14-day free trial.
Choose one of three options
Test at Home
Take a 30-minute test at home using your own bicycle, a stationary trainer and Zwift.
Go to an Event
Visit our stall at an eligible AusCycling event and take a shorter 10-minute test on our Wattbike stationary bike trainer.
Host a Testing Day
Don’t have the equipment and can’t make it to an event? We can bring our equipment to your town or city!
September race series
In September 2024, test yourself by participating in three Zwift events listed below:
- Stage 1, Baseline: Tuesday, September 10, 6:00pm AEST or Thursday, September 12, 5:00pm AEST
- Stage 2, Time Trial: Tuesday, September 17, 6:30pm AEST
- Stage 3, Criterium: Tuesday, September 24, 6:30pm AEST
What happens after the test?
AusCycling analyses your results and compares them to benchmarks. If you meet the criteria, you'll be invited for further in-person testing. Successful candidates will be offered a 6-month development program with AusCycling, including:
- Access to AusCycling Development Academies
- Coaching support
- Development camps and clinics
This program can lead to categorisation in our performance pathway, scholarship opportunities, and ultimately, the chance to compete for Australia at major events!
Who runs this program?
AusCycling are running the program with funding from the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Our partners include Zwift and Wattbike Australia
