Santos Tour Down Under confirms dates for 2024

Jun 20, 2023

Time to start locking in those summer of cycling dates because here it comes again.

The Santos Tour Down Under announced today that the dates for the 2024 event will be from January 12-21, and raced once again on the streets of Adelaide and regional South Australia.

The dynamic 10-day event is rolling into its 24th edition next year and will bring UCI WorldTour teams and some of the world's best road riders to Australia for the annual summer of cycling down under.

Santos Tour Down Under Race Director Stuart O’Grady OAM said he and assistant race directors Annette Edmondson and Carlee Taylor were excited to build on the success of this year’s event.

“I am proud to say there is no other race in the world that compares to the Santos Tour Down Under and we are excited to present another edition of Australia’s unbeatable cycling race in 2024,” O’Grady said.

“Our priority is to build on this momentum in 2024 and take the race to new heights and we look forward to revealing the 2024 race routes to the world in the coming weeks.

“Elite cycling is getting better each year, and we hope to continue that trend by pushing our race to continually improve.”

Santos Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Gallagher said the company was proud to continue supporting the event and recognised its broad community benefits.

“Having a world-class event of this scale attracts a significant number of international and Australian tourists to South Australia, and competition for events like this is fierce,” Gallagher said.

“Santos is dedicated to supporting the Tour Down Under so that Adelaide and surrounding regional communities can benefit economically and continue to bring people together.”

Australians Grace Brown (FDJ–Suez) and Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates) ushered in the return of the UCI WorldTour to Australia in January by winning the women's and men's race respectively.

Routes for the men’s and women’s races will be announced in full detail by Santos Tour Down Under in coming weeks.
