Jul 15, 2021

The AusCycling National Advisory Council, made up of the Chairs of the eight State and Territory Advisory Councils, has voted Rob Nelson from Queensland as Chair of the National Advisory Council.

In his role as Chair of the NAC, Mr Nelson now joins the board of AusCycling.

Mr Nelson has over 25 years of experience across sport at an executive level, as Chief Commercial Officer of the Brisbane Economic Development Agency and now CCO of Alliance Airlines.

He is also an active cyclist on the road, track and mountain bike trails.

Mr Nelson said he is looking forward to working with the board in implementing the new governance model for the sport.

“A vital part of this model is keeping closely connected with our cycling communities and stakeholders which is where the NAC and the SAC’s play a critical role.”

AusCycling Chair Duncan Murray added his congratulations to the incoming board member.

“To have someone of Rob’s qualifications and also as a passionate cyclist leading the NAC ensures our sport is well served at every level.”
