Road Taskforce Survey: Have your say on the future of road racing

The peloton of a junior women's road race during the 2024 AusCycling Junior & Masters Road National Championships in Loxton, South Australia, shot from behind showing rolling undulations in the road ahead of them.

In a key stage of its consultation process, the AusCycling Road Taskforce is now inviting all members of the community to complete a nationwide survey of Australia's road racing landscape.

After the Taskforce was launched in February, it has consulted with, and received direct feedback from, more than 70 stakeholder groups and individuals through interviews and forums with clubs, riders, officials, race promoters and event delivery organisations.

Pleasingly, the Taskforce has received strong and constructive engagement from stakeholders, demonstrating a clear willingness across the community to contribute ideas, support reform and help shape a more sustainable future.

The next, critical phase of the Taskforce's work is its national road racing community survey, which is now live. We encourage all riders, clubs, officials, volunteers and organisers to make themselves heard by completing the survey.

Your feedback will help to:

  • identify the biggest barriers facing road racing;
  • prioritise reform opportunities;
  • guide future investment and support models; and
  • shape sustainable racing formats and pathways for the future .

The more voices involved, the stronger and more representative the final recommendations will be.

If you ride a road bike, race at any level, or simply have an interest in Australian road racing, please have your say by completing the survey by Sunday, May 24.

The survey will take approximately nine minutes to complete.
