ProVelo Super League winners to receive U23 stagiaire contracts with WorldTour teams

Young Australian road cyclists will get get the chance to secure a stagiaire contract with UCI WorldTour teams, in an exciting deal announced by ProVelo Super League.

The U23 winners of the ProVelo Super League, which launches next year, will receive stagiaire (trainee) contracts with Australian UCI WorldTour outfits Team Jayco AlUla and Liv Jayco AlUla. 

The announcement was made by Gerry Ryan, team owner of GreenEDGE Cycling (Team Jayco AlUla and Liv AlUla Jayco Cycling Teams) and Director of the ProVelo Super League (PSL), underscoring his ongoing investment in the development of young Australian riders. 

ProVelo Super League co-founder Matt Wilson said, “The pathway from grassroots cycling, to PSL, onto a stagiaire position in a WorldTour team highlights both Gerry’s and the PSL’s shared vision for the sport of cycling in this country. The pathway for Australian riders is a big part of the PSL vision, the ability to get athletes to Europe and the WorldTour is a fantastic link that should inspire the next generation of Australian riders.”

The U23 men’s series winner will join Team Jayco AlUla WorldTour team as a stagiaire from August 1, 2025, while the women’s U23 series winner will secure a spot on the Liv AlUla Jayco development team for the 2026 season. 

The inaugural ProVelo Super League season will launch during the Australian summer of cycling in Adelaide in January 2025, and comprise events in South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland.   

It will incorporate some of Australia’s oldest events and include newly created events that will be broadcast nationally.
