The Oceania region's premier track cycling championships return to Australia next year, with Melbourne set to host the 2027 Oceania Track Championships on 16−20 February.
The Oceania Cycling Confederation has today announced that the Oceania Championships will see the best track cyclists and Para cyclists from across the continent descend on DISC Velodrome over five days.
The 2027 Continental Championships will start the crucial qualification process for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, as well as offering valuable points in the Para cycling events to contribute towards Paralympic qualification.
44 Oceania titles will be decided across elite and under-19 men's and women's events, and up to 58 titles in Para cycling.
It will be the first time in over 10 years that Melbourne will host the Championships, having last held the event in 2016.
Oceania Cycling Confederation President and UCI Management Committee Member Tony Mitchell said, "We are delighted the Oceania Track Championships are returning to Melbourne in February 2027.
"Melbourne and Victoria have a rich history of hosting world class cycling events from World Championships, Commonwealth Games, UCI Track World Cups, Oceania Championships and National Championships.
"The 2027 Oceania Championships mark the start of Olympic qualification, and with Australia and New Zealand winning a combined 39 medals at the recent Commonwealth Games, we will be sure to witness some exciting racing as they chase success at the 2028 Olympics.
"The OCC extends its thanks to AusCycling and the Victorian Government for hosting the Championships."
