Oceania Enduro Champions crowned in Collie

Luke Meier-Smith and Elle de Noyer proved a class above as they claimed the Oceania Enduro Championships at the Wambenger Trails near Collie, Western Australia.

Meier- Smith from The Taree Tip Riders made it a clean sweep of wins across the six stages, as he finished with a +44 second advantage over second placed Thomas Locke (Garigal Gorillas) with Roly Kyme (MRORCA) a further six seconds behind in the elite men.

In the Under 21 men Bailey Christie showed he will be a major threat come Sunday when they race for the National Championship as he clinched the Oceania title by +20 seconds.

His finish time of 18:43.84 would see the West Aussie not only take the crown but also finish second overall behind Meier-Smith in the elite ranks.

Fellow Enduro World Cup racer Sascha Kim (Hobart Wheelers/Dirt Devils) finished second with Cooper Northey (Alpine Cycling Club) in the bronze medal position.

Jess Hoskin (Caloundra Off-Road Club) took out the number one spot in the elite women ahead of Rachel Hore (YRMTB) and Taylah Sherriff (Launceston MTB Club) but it would be an Under 21 rider who took the overall spoils.

After a fourth place in the opening stage, Elle de Noyer (Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club), took out the next five stages to produce the fastest overall time with 21:53.87 to claim the women's Oceania crown.
