New enduro national champions to be crowned in Collie

New enduro national champions will be crowned this weekend when the country’s best riders descend on the Wambenger Trails near Collie, Western Australia for the 2025 AusCycling MTB Enduro National Championships.

For the second year running, the event brings together elite and age-group riders chasing the coveted green and gold jerseys across the technical, flowing trails that have fast become a rider favourite on the enduro scene.

The racing kicks off on Thursday with the 2025 Oceania Enduro Championships, where riders will test themselves across six demanding stages.

On Saturday, the master's will take to the course, before the elite men and women round out the championships on Sunday.

All eyes will be on recent MTB Worlds ARA Australian Cycling Team riders Thomas Locke and Lacey Adams.

Locke opened last year’s campaign with a podium at the Oceania Championships, but a heavy crash ended his hopes of adding the national title. The Canberra rider returns with redemption on his mind.

Local favourite Roly Kyme will also be a strong contender in the elite category. The West Australian finished just six seconds shy of gold in 2024 and will be eager to go one better in front of family and friends.

In the elite women’s field, change is in the air with several riders stepping up from the under-21 ranks.

Last year’s U21 winner Elle de Nooyer and UCI Enduro World Cup overall U21 champion, Adams, are both making the leap, adding real intrigue to Sunday’s showdown.

De Nooyer underlined her speed last year by setting the fastest overall women’s time across three of the six stages.

2024 elite women’s bronze medallist Taylah Sherriff is also back in the mix, aiming to climb further up the podium.

With emerging talent and established names, the Collie trails are set to deliver another memorable weekend of enduro racing.
