New date for Tour of Tasmania as PSL begins

Jul 23, 2024

In anticipation of the launch of the ProVelo Super League (PSL) next year, the Spirit of Tasmania Cycling Tour will not be held in 2024.

The Tour had been scheduled to be the final round of the AusCycling National Road Series (NRS) this November.

Instead, the next edition of the Tour will be in February 2025 as part of the inaugural PSL season.

The 2024 NRS will therefore conclude at the Tour of Gippsland on October 2–4.

The PSL is a new domestic road cycling league that will commence in early 2025 and include longstanding NRS races such as the Melbourne to Warrnambool and Grafton to Inverell. PSL events will be sanctioned and supported by AusCycling.

The men’s NRS is currently jointly led by Alastair Christie-Johnston and Graeme Frislie (both of CCACHE x Par Küp, which leads the team rankings), while Katelyn Nicholson and Team BridgeLane lead the women’s NRS.
