2021 Madison National Championships move to Adelaide

Feb 19, 2021

South Australian fans will have their chance to catch Tokyo Olympic Games stars in action when the Australian Cycling Team headlines the 2021 AusCycling Madison National Championships in Adelaide on Saturday, 27 February.

The Championships, the first elite AusCycling Nationals for 2021, was relocated from Melbourne to the Adelaide Super-Drome due to the recent COVID-19 situation in Victoria.

The Madison will feature in an action-packed evening program of Adelaide Track League racing, including the finals for the 2021 AusCycling Track Sprint Championships – South Australia, plus Junior, A-Grade and Support races.

The Madison is a paired event which sees teams compete together to score points throughout the race and features exciting changeovers between the pairings completed by a hand-sling.

The exciting event is one of only six track cycling disciplines on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games program, with the women’s event set for its Olympic debut. With little more than five months until race day, the 2021 Championships will provide a key racing opportunity for the Australian Cycling Team athletes.

The final lineup of riders and teams will be announced early next week.

Spectator tickets are available online now with kids under 15 free, while General Admission tickets are just $15!
