Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games to feature 26 track cycling and para-cycling medal events
Feb 7, 2025
Para-cycling will see its medal programme doubled at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which is set to deliver an action-packed and inclusive sports program, with the official medal event schedule revealed for the first time on Thursday.
A total of 26 track cycling and para-cycling medal events will be raced during the Games at Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, an increase of six from the 20 medal events at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The six new medal opportunities will come in the elimination race for both men and women, the men's C1-3 3000m Individual Pursuit, the men's C1-3 1000m Time Trial, the women's C4-5 4000m Individual Pursuit and the women's C4-5 1000m Time Trial.

Glasgow 2026 will be the first Commonwealth Games to include C-class (standard bike) para-cycling in its programme.
Commonwealth Games Australia CEO Craig Phillips AM welcomed the programme announcement, highlighting the expanded opportunities for athletes, especially with the growth of the para-sport program.
“The medal programme for Glasgow reinforces the bold vision behind these reimagined Games,” Phillips said.
“It critically features a record-breaking 47 medal events for para-sport, which is a testament to the Commonwealth Sport Movement’s commitment to inclusivity and a fully integrated Games.
“Australia’s best para-athletes will have the opportunity to compete on the same stage as their able-bodied counterparts – this is a groundbreaking aspect of the Commonwealth Games.
“We look forward to working with our Sport Members and other system partners to leave no stone unturned in the preparation of athletes to pursue success in Glasgow.
“Glasgow 2026 is shaping up to be an outstanding celebration of sport, culture, and diversity – one that will inspire athletes, engage fans and leave a lasting legacy.”
