Final two rounds of CX series ready to rip

Jul 7, 2023

The final two rounds of the 2023 AusCycling Cyclo-cross National Series will be played out inside the Dunc Gray Velodrome this weekend.

While the venue has regularly been used for the NSW CX Series and for the 2022 NSW State Cyclocross Championships it's the first time since 2019 that a National round has been held in Sydney.

It is also the last opportunity for rider to fine tune before the National Championships to be held in Ballarat next month.

After tasting her first defeat of the series in Ipswich, Rebecca Locke will be primed to ensure that will be the only loss in the Series as she looks to wrap up the overall leaders title.

While in the elite men Christopher Aitken's back to back victories in Rounds 5 and 6 have given him a handy buffer heading into the final two stops.

However Garry Millburn is only two good races away from toppling the current overall leader and claiming the crown.

Competitors can expect to find a mostly grass-based course, set in and around the criterium circuit, with a mix of off-camber banks, a flyover and large set of stairs, barriers, and a fast tarmac start and finish straight.
