AusCycling is accepting expressions of interest from elite BMX freestyle riders aged 20 and under to participate in a European development camp opportunity this September.
The camp is provisionally planned to be held from September 7-21 (subject to change) and includes Brussels Urban Sessions and Round 6 of the French Cup in Paris.
The objectives of this pathways project include developmentally appropriate international competition exposure for BMX freestyle pathways athletes, increase opportunities for athletes to gain UCI points that accelerates progression towards major events readiness and European competition standards such as judging trends, course designs and event environments.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants must be competing in the elite category and be <20 years of age. Selection priority will be assessed in the following order:
- Currently categorised emerging and developing riders;
- Athletes may be considered if they have obtained the following results within the performance period:
- Elite men - Top 10 at two (2) domestic events listed (Oceania, National Championships, UCI C1) whilst <20;
- Elite women - Top 4 at two (2) domestic events listed (Oceania, National Championships, UCI C1) whilst <20.
COMPETITION PERFORMANCE PERIOD
- November 1, 2025 - April 31, 2026
Expressions of interest will close on May 31 at 5pm AEST. Athletes will be notified of panel outcomes by June 15.
