The City of Gold Coast will once again host Australia’s pinnacle BMX freestyle event when the 2025 AusCycling BMX Freestyle National Championships take place on February 15-16 at the National BMX Freestyle Facility in Carrara.
The best riders from around Australia are expected to compete for the national champion’s green-and-gold jersey, including Olympic gold medallist Logan Martin and Olympic bronze medallist Natalya Diehm.
The event will also showcase emerging stars in the sport, with talented riders from Under 7s to Amateur class set to deliver an unforgettable weekend of creativity and skill.
A complete list of riders will be announced closer to the competition. Rider entries for the National Championships will open in January.
Logan Martin wins the Elite Men national championship in 2023.
Since it was built in 2021, the National BMX Freestyle Facility has earned a reputation as one of the world’s premier competition venues, and with the title of national champion on the line, riders will push the boundaries of what’s possible on two wheels.
Entry to the National Championships will be free for spectators, who will be able to meet their heroes and explore the latest in BMX technology in the expo area, all set in a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere.
Dale Percy, AusCycling’s Head of Events, BMX, encouraged die-hard and casual sports fans alike to experience the gravity-defying tricks and amazing atmosphere of the competition.
“Whether you’re here to cheer for your favourite riders or to experience the spectacle of BMX Freestyle for the first time, this event celebrates the passion, innovation, and sense of community that defines the sport,” Percy said.
“BMX Freestyle is growing in participation and recognition. This is a fantastic opportunity to come along, soak up the Gold Coast sun, and absorb the energy of this thrilling sport.
“Mark your calendars for February 2025 and join us for an action-packed weekend as we crown the champions of Australian BMX Freestyle.”
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the City was proud to be hosting the Australian championships for the most spectacular cycling discipline.

“Dream big and deliver. That’s what we have achieved by securing the AusCycling BMX Freestyle National Championships for the Gold Coast,” Tate said.
“It’ll be the Logan and Natalya show with these two Olympic medallists taking on the best freestylers around. Congratulations to everyone involved ... it's showtime in February!"
