AusCycling has welcomed the South Australian Government’s budget announcement of $7.5 million in funding to replace the cycling track at the iconic Adelaide Super-Drome.
The Adelaide Super-Drome is a world-class facility, which has hosted major international cycling events including the 2024 UCI Track Nations Cup.
It is also the training ground for the ARA Australian Cycling Team track endurance riders and para-cyclists.
AusCycling Chief Executive Officer Marne Fechner thanked the South Australian Government for its significant investment and continued support of cycling.
“The funding will ensure our emerging and elite athletes have access to a world-class facility as they dream and work towards the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics,” she said.
“This commitment from the Government will ensure that not only South Australia remains at the forefront of cycling excellence, it will also make Adelaide an attractive option for major track events moving forward.
“We thank the South Australian Government for their investment and partnership in growing the sport."
