AusCycling welcomes Shimano as new major partner
Aug 17, 2022
Shimano and AusCycling are pleased to announce a new 3-year partnership making Shimano a Major Partner of AusCycling, alongside Santini, AIS, UCI and Sport Australia.
The collaboration between Shimano and AusCycling is one built on the shared vision to strengthen and promote one of the core pillars of the AusCycling strategy – to “Be More for More.”
The partnership will see Shimano recognised as the Official Neutral Spares provider at all AusCycling-hosted National Championships across Cyclo-cross, Gravel, MTB and Road.
“We are committed to the sport of cycling in Australia and now that all cycling disciplines are unified in this country, we believe it befits a Shimano partnership. It's exciting for us to partner with AusCycling,” said Matt Bazzano, Managing Director, Shimano Australia.
“We are looking forward to and are excited to work closely with AusCycling and its stakeholders over the coming years to see our sport reach its fullest potential.”
As announced last month, Shimano is also the naming rights sponsor for the National All Schools Cycling Challenge taking place on the Gold Coast in September.
EGM – Commercial, Clubs and Community, Agostino Giramondo said, “Both Shimano and AusCycling share a similar vision – we both love seeing more people riding bikes. Shimano, like AusCycling, is committed to the development of cycling in all its forms for everyone, the promotion of diversity among people who cycle, and the promotion of healthy living through cycling.
“I’m excited that the partnership is broad and there is a big focus on grassroots, education and the lower pathway. The partnership will facilitate mechanics courses and will grant AusCycling access to the Shimano online platform as well as hosting courses, where appropriate.”
In addition, Shimano will become a sponsor of the AusCycling Development Academies across all disciplines. This support will come in the form of support at training camps, components and overall education.
