Apply to be an AusCycling national selector

Jan 23, 2023

AusCycling is now taking expressions of interest for independent selectors to join the National Selection Panel for UCI World Championships and the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games.

Independent selectors are passionate, experienced individuals from Australia’s cycling and riding community who wish to contribute to the formal selection process in various disciplines.

Selectors will play a key role in ensuring the best athletes are selected in a transparent manner and in accordance with AusCycling’s selection policies.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • have actively participated in the last five years at an elite national or international level as an athlete, coach, manager, or support staff member in the nominated discipline;
  • be able to objectively analyse and question individual athlete or team performance data against selection criteria and performance standards;
  • be above any perceived or actual conflict of interest or bias (eg not currently coaching athletes eligible for selection, nor competing as an elite athlete); and
  • acknowledge that this is a 12-month voluntary role that does not attract any remuneration.

This call for EOIs comes after AusCycling changed the selection policies to increase fairness, participation and community engagement.

Applications close 5:00pm AEST on Friday, February 10, 2023.
