AusCycling has announced the launch of the 2024/25 Mountain Bike calendar, offering a comprehensive schedule of over 130 events spanning across international, national, and state levels throughout Australia.

The calendar is packed with exciting opportunities for riders of all skill levels to participate, from grassroots enthusiasts to elite competitors.

At the heart of the season is the 2025 GWM Mountain Bike National Championships, which will be held in to Mount Buller, Victoria, from March 12–16 for the very first time.

The town of Collie in Western Australia will again host the 2025 AusCycling Enduro National Championships on October 4–5, in conjunction with the Oceania Enduro Championships.

The 2025 AusCycling Trials National Championships will be in Canberra on April 5, and the 2025 AusCycling Slopestyle National Championships take place at Greenvalleys MTB Park from April 19–20.

For riders who enjoy the longer format the 2025 AusCycling Marathon National Championships will be taken to the Flinders Ranges for the first time in Melrose, South Australia, on August 23–24, showcasing Mount Remarkable to the masses.

With the championships program under continuous review the presence of a 24hr Solo Championships is being considered.

The National Series is also expanding in 2024/25, with races taking place across four states and territories, showcasing a diverse range of hosts and organisers committed to providing world-class mountain biking experiences. Working with the hosts AusCycling remains focused on ensuring athletes have the opportunity to compete on a national stage.

The Cross-Country (XC) National Series will span seven rounds, starting with a double-header in the Victorian goldfields, in Bendigo, Victoria, followed by rounds in Hobart over the Australia Day long weekend, and culminating in Canberra in early March. The Canberra round will also feature a UCI Junior World Series race, providing our up-and-coming riders the chance to earn valuable UCI points.

The Downhill (DH) National Series begins in Toowoomba, Queensland, in mid-January, before stops at Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania, in the lead-up to RedBull Hardline, then Canberra, for a combined XC/DH festival, and finally Orange.

Steve Peterson, AusCycling’s Head of Events – MTB | CX, emphasized the critical role of the National Series in nurturing Australia’s mountain biking talent.

“We are excited to unveil a calendar that showcases the very best of our sport across the country. Our national championship jerseys will be contested in every corner of Australia in 2025,” Peterson said. “The prestige of the National Series is vital not only for its own significance but also as a stepping stone for riders looking to compete internationally. The 2024/25 National Series promises to be impressive, and we thank all our hosts for their support of the program.”

In acknowledging the connection between mountain biking and Australia’s Indigenous heritage, Peterson added, “Mountain biking has a unique relationship with the land, and we are deeply grateful for the collaboration with traditional owners and land managers that allows us to race and ride in these incredible places.

“We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land and to their culture and recognise their enduring connection to land and waters across all our host venues.”

The 2024/25 calendar will also see the return of other iconic events, including Redbull Hardline at Maydena on February 7–8, the Cannonball Mountain Bike Festival, and endurance classics like the Reef to Reef, Cape to Cape, Dwellingup 100, Convict 100, and Noosa Enduro.

Cairns will once again host the UCI Masters Mountain Bike World Championships and Crankworx, with dates to be announced.
