2024 Tissot UCI Track Nations Cup coming to Adelaide
Nov 22, 2023
Adelaide will host the world’s best track cyclists five months out from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, at the opening round of the 2024 Tissot UCI Track Nations Cup.
The Adelaide Super-Drome will play host to one of the final qualification events prior to Paris 2024, from 2 to 4 February next year.
The event is one of only three Tissot UCI Track Nations Cups staged internationally each year, guaranteeing crowds in Adelaide will have the chance to witness the best track cyclists and nations from across the world competing in the crucial final stages of their Olympic preparations.
Some of track cycling’s biggest names including ARA Australian Cycling Team stars Matt Richardson, Matt Glaetzer, and Alexandra Manly will compete across all six Olympic events, including the team pursuit and team sprint, over three days of racing.
Ticketing information will be available in the next two weeks.

With the Olympic Games taking place just months after this event, the athletes and teams will be approaching the pinnacle of their performance, and I expect we can look forward to seeing incredibly high-end competition at the Super-Drome.
The Super-Drome is no stranger to hosting elite level competitions, having staged many national and international events in the past. This home ground advantage and familiarity will hopefully give our Australian riders the boost of confidence they need in the final months before Paris 2024.
I would like to thank the South Australian Tourism Commission, the Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing, and the Major Events Attraction Committee for helping to bring this event to Australia.
Katrine Hildyard, South Australian Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing
South Australia has a strong and proud history as a cycling state, hosting world class events and producing incredible riders.
Adelaide has been the home of the national track cycling team since the 1980s; this exciting event, just months before cyclists head to the Olympics, is another way we are backing in our strong, long-running relationship with cycling in Australia.
Off the back of the women’s and men’s Santos Tour Down Under, it will be brilliant to have the world’s best track cyclists in Adelaide. These cyclists will enthral us and will continue to inspire the next generation to be active and enjoy the many physical, mental and emotional benefits of being so. I encourage everyone to get out and cheer these outstanding athletes on!
Leon Bignell, Chair of the South Australian Major Events Attraction Committee:
This is another world-class event being delivered by the Malinauskas Government through our $40 million major events bid fund.
I want to thank UCI President David Lappartient, AusCycling Chair Craig Bingham and CEO Marne Fechner for the way they've gone about the negotiations that gave Adelaide – as the cycling capital of Australia – the chance to farewell the Aussie team before they head to the Olympics.
For any South Australian who will be tuning into Paris24 make sure you get out to the Super-Drome and feel the atmosphere and see these international superstars in action at the end of January.
