2021 NRS - Melbourne to Warrnambool Snapshot

The Powercor Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic is Australia’s oldest and longest one-day cycling road race, with the 2021 Classic to be the 105th edition of the race.

2021 PowerCor Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic

THE EVENT

Beginning at 8am on Saturday 1 May, the Powercor Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic will see riders take in 267 kilometres from Avalon to Warrnambool.

The men's race included on the 2021 AusCycling’s National Road Series calendar.

The Classic will also include categories for Women, plus A, B and C Grades, with the Port Campbell to Handicap, also featuring on a busy day of racing.

WHO TO WATCH

In the Men's NRS race, Inform TMX MAKE will be headlined by Lucas Plapp and Kell O’Brien who form part of Australia's track team for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.

The pair are fresh from a sizzling summer where a powerhouse performance from Plapp saw him win the time trial at the AusCycling Road National Championships time trial while O'Brien collected silver in the road race.

In the Women's Race, defending champion Matilda Raynolds (Specialized Women’s Racing) will go in as the favourite, with 2020 Road National Championship silver medalist Justine Barrow (Roxsolt Liv SRAM) expected to challenge for the honours.
