Entries open for 2022 Junior and Masters Road National Championships in Wollongong

AusCycling is excited to announce entries are now open for the 2022 Junior and Masters Road National Championships, set to be held in Wollongong and Kiama from September 13-16.

The 2022 Junior and Masters Road National Championships, which will be held concurrently, provides a unique opportunity for competitors to be part of the UCI Road World Championships festival atmosphere, with the events serving as a domestic racing lead-in to Wollongong 2022, being held from September 18-25.

AusCycling Executive General Manager of Sport Kipp Kaufmann said the 2022 Junior and Masters Road National Championships would be one to remember for racers.

“The opportunity to link the AusCycling Junior and Masters Road National Championships with the 2022 UCI Road World Championships in Wollongong is particularly exciting as it will offer the opportunity for participants to race and then stay to enjoy an incredible Championships week,” Kaufmann said.

Masters

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery AM celebrated the hosting of the Championships.

“We’re really excited to be welcoming this prestigious event to our city this September,’’ Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.

“We’re proud supporters of the 2022 AusCycling Juniors and Masters Road National Championships, and the event recognises our status as a UCI Bike City and demonstrates the value in Wollongong’s ongoing investment in cycling infrastructure.

“Wollongong offers many and diverse riding opportunities – everything from road cycling through to mountain biking, BMXing and cruising along our coastal pathway.

“I hope those watching or participating in this event will be inspired to get on their bike and benefit from the physical, mental and sustainable advantages riding can deliver.’’

The 2022 AusCycling Masters and Juniors Road National Championships are proudly supported by the Wollongong City Council and the NSW Government through Destination NSW.
